After some time away, between one thing and another, one of the countries most cherished underground parties is returning to where it all began: daytime dancing, outdoor vibes, and community connection. On Sunday June 1st from 2 pm. to 10 pm. Join us in the lane(closed off and covered if need be)for a proper get down in the city centre (Pharmacia) for a celebration of music, movement and happy memories in the making. Good Times.
Backwards has been mainly an invite-only staple of the local underground based in Limerick for the past 14 years, known for its dedication to all things funk, disco, soul, reggae, African, Latin, house, jazz, acid and beyond—all played the right way - two turntables and a mixer. For this special day, our hometown stalwarts Frawl and Paul Byrne, Dj’s, selectors and veterans of the Treaty's scene, will guide the soundtrack with nothing but the finest platters that matter. All on the amazing Sound System- Swisssound. 100% analog sound operated by someone who also loves the records to sound as close to perfect as is possible.
So Expect pristine sound, good people, a barbecue, and drinks deals on pints and cocktails. But more than that, expect a return to the feeling that started it all—daylight, dancing, and the freedom to just be who you are and express yourself freely.
Everyone is welcome. Come as you are, bring your friends, and wear your dancing shoes. It’s time to try something a bit different, a little special and very much needed.
