Chaz Moloney brings his live modular techno show to Limerick city for the first time on December 16th. Chaz has dedicated the last 15 years of his life to electronic music and in the past 2 years has gradually moved his medium from DJing to live electronic music. Gathering bits of hardware for the past number of years with this show in mind, the time has finally come for Chaz to showcase the system he has spent so long crafting. Through interacting with his modular synth & fm drum machines, Chaz holds the dancefloor in the palm of his hand as he controls every sonic element at play. Improvisation lies at the fundamental core of Chaz’ performance and so you can expect to arrive at moments of blistering magic as Chaz layers the elements of his system and takes the room on a powerful sonic exploration. An experience that is underpinned by thundering grooves, powerful basslines and dissonant rhythms! Chaz’ show will have a full AV accompaniment by Limerick Visual artist Roisin Berg.
Opening artist ‘Florbit’, will man a fully improvised modular set up, promising a unique experience shrouded in broken rhythms and distorted basslines. While main support comes from Circuit Structure records bossman ‘Offtrack’, who’s poised to deliver a 100% vinyl set across 3 turntables, showcasing the depths of his record collection.
The nights soundscape will be played through the hand crafted RiseUp Sound System. A well known system, recognizable from parties such as Trench Town, Electric Picnic & Ar Ais Arís in Galway.
As an extension of the audio showcase, a number of Visual Artists have been invited to exhibit and develop pieces in response to the theme of "Hands" - the means by which most creators materialise and translate their inner world of thoughts, ideas & emotions and how man connects to machine.
Visual artists include; Alt For Jesus, Graeme Dalton, Maclaine Black, Manky & Thérése Tynan, Ohhi Ohno & Ríona Denys.
