Expansion presents Medalla All Night Long at Hang Dai

Lineup Medalla We’re delighted to announce our first venture into one of our favorite venues in the city - Hang Dai Chinese With over 20 years of experience behind him and impeccable taste to match, Alan first learned classical piano and guitar before beginning to collect hard house and trance records. During his college years, he joined the student radio station FLIRT FM and secured his first radio show, Cluas Eile, as gailge, which ran for four years. It was there that his musical horizons expanded, opening the door to house, tech house and, most notably, techno from the likes of Dave Clarke, Chris Liebing, DJ Rush and many more. He learnt to mix vinyl on an old set of Stanton’s and took the leap to invest in a set of 1210’s, before expanding into digital DJing experimenting with traktor and further delving into different soundscapes. After a long stint living in Edinburgh and travelling throughout Europe, South America, Australia and Sri Lanka, he moved back to Dublin in 2014. Since then, he’s rekindled his Cluas Eile show on Phever Radio, amassing nearly 300 shows on SoundCloud. Fast forward to more recent years, Alan has firmly begun to make his mark on the Irish scene. After taking part in a four-week advanced vinyl course with Irish techno legend and good friend Cailín with m.y.s.t.i.f.y he gained a huge boost in confidence while forming strong bonds with the other participants. It also helped build lasting relationships with fellow collectives and venues across the scene. Recent notable gigs and highlights include Cailín’s very own Technique Focus party series in Waterford, Record Store Day with Absys Records, The Big Romance & Ulster Sports Club in Belfast with Deep North. Expect a wide selection of chuggy house cuts influenced by Detroit and Chicago, alongside more club-focused house and tech house, with a few curveballs thrown in for good measure.
