Open Ear returns for its sixth edition, bringing an array of immersive performances, experimental art and cutting-edge music to Sherkin Island.
Open Ear returns home to Sherkin Island.
We are thrilled to present the 6th edition of Open Ear across Sherkin Island, situated off the coast of West Cork.
From the 31st of May to 2nd of June we’ll be bringing you the freshest, weirdest and most exciting music that Ireland and further afield has to offer.
There is also now a FREE opening concert on the Thursday night featuring acclaimed Syrian Kurdish folk musician Mohammad Syfkhan.
This year sees us return to exploring Sherkin Island, pushing the boat out in terms of what we can programme at a music festival, and how we can programme it.
This exploration sees us curate a range of performances exclusively for the festival, including one off collaborations, world premieres, intimate performances from experimental rock icons & sound-systems like you’ve rarely seen (or heard) them before at an Irish music festival.
