Lineup re:lax re:ni b2b Laksa 3hr set EMA Big one! Woozy is back September 28th with re:ni and Laksa aka re:lax, two of modern Soundsystem culture’s vital voices. re:lax is the name given to re:ni and Laksa's party and label series based in London. They also play out b2b under this moniker, if you have managed to catch either of them play solo you know we are in for a treat to hear them play b2b. re:ni was the first ever Woozy booking, where it all started so this is a really special full circle moment. Tengu is about to be scrambled up! Bass-heads, don't miss this! For the past five years they have run the label, club night and NTS show ‘re:lax’ together. Combining forces as re:lax, has helped push both their own respective crafts to new heights. The NTS show re:lax has become a fixture in the listening habits of all UK-minded music heads. Every month you’ll find listeners from all over the world tuning in to re:ni, Laksa and their guests to listen to the latest finds they present during their regular show. Growing up listening to drum & bass and dubstep, re:ni's sets join the dots between her dub-wise influences and contemporary bass-driven techno, electro, jungle and breaks. With shows at institutions like Panorama Bar, De School, Robert Johnson and fabric, she brings a UK sensibility to the dancefloor, bouncing across bpms with a record bag stacked full of deep basslines and broken rhythms. re:ni was selected out of thousands of applications for the inaugural NTS WIP 2019, a programme aimed to provide mentoring and career development for eight artists. Her show re:lax, together with Laksa Nominations as breakthrough DJ of the year and a tour schedule encompassing all many of the world's respected underground clubs and festivals keep solidifying her place amongst the best DJs in the contemporary electronic music world. Her debut EP on the renowned Munich label Ilian Tape issues a new chapter in her career, as a producer taking her place in the unique intersection of UK heritage and German influences but bringing them into current age. When it comes to artists pushing the boundary with bass-influenced techno and UK bass, you’ll be hard-pressed to find better mixes than those by Laksa. Regular releases on the likes of Timedance, Ilian Tape, Mistry, Hessle Audio over the last eight years have cemented him as a cross-genre tempo hopper. Laksa has been consistently pushing bass mutations since his early EPs on Batu’s Timedance, cementing his place amongst the latest UK talent. He has added to this list with his debut EP for re:lax Body Score EP. Take the calibre of labels he’s affiliated with—Timedance, Ilian Tape and most recently, Hessle Audio. All are primary sources for the best of forward-facing club music. With shows at institutions like Berghain, Nowadays and Printworks, along with gigs across Europe and Asia, he effortlessly blurs styles and genres with a UK rudeness. With more music and releases lined up for re:lax in 2024, Laksa will continue to explore his interests and sound, and push things FWD. EMA opens up the room for the first hour. See you there!
