Lineup DJ Storm (Metalheadz) Chord Memory (Bassbin) Initial Residents Tengu links with the Initial crew to bring over DJ Storm for her first venture out in Ireland in over seven years. Bassbin Records resident Chord Memory will support on the night! Storm has always been one of the most influential DJs within Drum & Bass, known for tight mixing skills and an exclusive selection. Affectionately dubbed the ‘First Lady of Drum & Bass,’ she represents Metalheadz at their residencies, label nights and tours as well as countless solo gigs. Having been involved from the very start of the label alongside her great friend and DJ partner Kemistry, Storm’s contribution has been critical in helping build the reputation Metalheadz has today. Storm has toured the world over and continues to enthral crowds with her powerful and professional style, and is also revered and embraced outside of the D&B community, performing at such events as Houghton Festival, Dekmantel, and Ben UFO’s XOYO residency. Chord Memory aka Genie. born and raised in Co. Dublin, emerged from the vibrant Irish rave culture of the 1990s, carving out her place as one of the first women drum and bass DJs in Ireland, alongside her DJ partner, DJ Ali. In 1999, she picked up her first set of decks and after an introduction to Dublin's premier drum'n'bass crew, Bassbin Recordings, played one of her first gigs at their legendary 'Refuge' night. She became a fixture in Dublin's underground dance music scene, known for her blend of atmospheric drum'n'bass and straight-up dancefloor rollers. She soon joined Bassbin's resident DJ roster, playing all over Ireland and some international shows. She also hosted a drum'n'bass radio show on Radio na Life for 5 years. In the mid-00s, she became a resident DJ at The Bernard Shaw pub and Bodytonic's renowned 'POGO' night, at Dublin's much missed PoD club, where she expanded her DJ sets to include her love of all bass music, hip-hop, house and much more. In 2011, Chord Memory stepped away from the decks to focus on other endeavours, including becoming a Mum. Although she remained connected to the music scene, her return to DJing in 2021 reignited her love of connecting with the dancefloor. Reinvigorated and with a wealth of experience, Chord Memory is once again bringing her signature sound to Irish dance floors and festivals such as Beyond The Pale, Another Love Story and Fuinneamh. With Chord Memory, the focus is always on all things bass, her sets journeying through the past and present, always with a proud nod to her Dublin rave roots. Initial is a collective of DJs and promoters currently consisting of founder member Degree and Wah. Originally conceived by co-founder A/X as an outlet for the lesser spotlighted sounds in drum and bass, Initial has expanded to encompass a 2 year radio show on Power Fm and a year on Unknown FM, a weekly Sunday session in Berlin D2, monthly nights in Lost Lane, Bar Eile, The Sound House Terrace and festival appearances at Membrain in Croatia among other things. They have hosted guests such as Spirit, Medika, FIS, Jubei, Kid Drama, Sam Binga, Seba, Kate Sublime and countless up-and-coming and established homegrown artists. Their nights try to showcase the vibrancy and diversity within drum and bass and show that a vibrant scene is ultimately about the music, people and atmosphere. See you on the dancefloor!
